This is a copy of a painting I did a few years ago. You can view the old one here.
My cousin and his wife in Holland wanted to buy the old one and I wasn't happy with it. It's a long story but I decided to paint a new one for them. I think this one is much better. I generally don't paint the same thing twice. I'm glad I did because I can see my improvement in the past two years.

Neil HollingsworthAnother thing I don't do too often is tell you about another painter. I thought I'd share a link to some of my favorite  contemporary painters once in a while.
Neil Hollingsworth's oil paintings have  inspired me  since the first time I viewed his work online in 2006. I started posting my daily paintings at the about the same time he did.
I am in awe with his technique, precision and skill. Click on the image to the left to view more of his work. You'll be amazed!

  1. This is truly beautiful Ria, though admittedly I am having a hard time seeing the difference between this newer model and your first effort. They are both stunning. Also thanks for the link to Neil's blog. His works are magnificent as well!

  2. Thanks for sharing your older work in comparison with the newer one. It's a very nice painting. Her face on the recent one is softer. Nice! PS love Hollingsworth's hyper realism works too.
