burst of leaves

confetti tree daily pastel painting
5" by 7" daily pastel painting, unframed
SOLD

When I saw this tree I knew it needed a background void of any distractions. The colors have been amazing as usual for this time of year. This is the first year that I'm actually devoting time to painting trees. I always had an aversion to painting in brilliant colors. Apparently the fear is gone. It's been a learning experience.

confetti tree 2

confetti tree daily pastel painting
5" by 6.5" daily pastel painting, unframed

Another version of falling leaves in autumn.
I've been sick with a nasty head cold all week and as a result I've been more playful than usual with painting. I think these last 2 pieces are somewhat childlike. Maybe I've given myself permission to play as I did when I was sick as a child.
No need to worry . . . I'll be back in the saddle soon and I have a hyper realism piece coming soon!

confetti tree

confetti tree daily pastel painting
5" by 7" daily pastel painting, unframed

It's autumn in New England and the leaves looked like confetti today when they were being blown by the wind. I got a bit carried away with my pastels, almost blindly applying color. Not my usual style! But, it was fun to work on layering the colors endlessly. It's given me some ideas for other autumn themed paintings.

As some of you may have noticed I am still here at blogger although I mentioned that I was moving my posts over to my main site. Well. . .I'm a bit fickle and a creature of habit . . . so I'll be keeping this as my daily painting site after all. If you are already a subscriber there's no need to do anything. I'll update my feeds so you'll still receive an email when I add a new painting.

mini magnolia painting with easel

2.75″ x 2.75″ acrylic daily painting

This small painting comes with the easel you see in the image.

I was reminded while I was painting this magnolia bloom that although the leaves are falling from the trees and the wind brings a cold chill, spring will come again. I planted my magnolia tree 4 years ago. It has been a favorite of mine since childhood.

$90 with free shipping and handling in the US. Please email me for International shipping rates or other inquiries.

Eggplant and hot peppers.

I think it’s becoming the color orange month for me. Clementines are one of my favorite fruits. Fun to eat and fun to paint.

3 pumpkins

6″ x 6″ daily painting
SOLD

Acrylic painting on gallery wrapped canvas. Side edges are painted and ready to hang!
I have to laugh because I said that I wasn’t going to paint pumpkins this year but they are so much fun.
I bought some new Golden Open acrylics which have a slower than usual drying time so I had to test them out.
